Therapeutic Recreation Section Meeting & Education: Dec 2022
IPRA's Therapeutic Recreation (TR) Section consists of special recreation professionals that either specialize or work in and around special recreation agencies. The event will begin with a light breakfast of pastries and the TR Section Board Meeting.  The Section Meeting will mainly consist of reports from the Section Board and each committee Chair, and an IPRA liaison will be in attendance to provide updates to the membership about news and events happening within the association.  Following the meeting, there will be a presentation of "The IPRA Experience", Committee updates, and Professional Development Scenarios.  If you are interested in joining the section or simply wish to attend for educational and networking purposes, you are encouraged to register. This is a members-only event, but guests interested learning more about IPRA are welcome to attend.

Event Timeline:  
10:00 am:  TR Section Board Meeting (will also shared on Zoom)
10:30 am:  Presentation of "The IPRA Experience" by Duane Smith with IPRA
11:00 am:  Committee presentations(1-3min per)
11:20 am:  Professional Development Scenarios

Description of "The IPRA Experience":  IPRA membership means being a part of an elite community of industry professionals dedicated to the advocacy of parks, recreation, and conservation through professional development. Members have access to an array of volunteer, networking, and educational opportunities for all levels of experience and needs within a broad range of industry roles. Come learn how you can get involved in IPRA, grow your professional network, and continue your education so you are at the forefront of the industry

Description of Professional Development Scenarios:  This session will consist of working together in teams to talk through, problem solve, and idea share the steps to take when faced with a challenging situation. These scenarios will be from real life situations from varying agencies with the goal of helping you feel equipped to handle unique circumstances that may arise, while getting suggestions and insight from other colleagues that you may not get to engage with often.

Virtual Attendance Option:  This TR Section Board Meeting will also be shared on Zoom.  All other portions of this event are In-Person only.  Links will be sent to all registrants December 12.
