Teen Camp Challenge
Sponsored by IPRA's Teen Committee located within the Recreation Section, the 7th Annual Teen Camp Challenge is an exciting and rewarding competition that brings together 5th - 8th graders from the Chicago Metropolitan area. Teen groups from different park districts will compete in 6 team-building events that include a mix of strategy skills, relays, and trivia knowledge. Teams earn points at each event, and the team with the most cumulative points will be awarded a trophy and crowned 2018 Teen Camp Challenge Champions. Additionally, a Spirit Stick will be awarded to the team with the best attitude and team spirit. Pack a lunch and bring your park district team(s) to the beautiful Ty Warner Park in Westmont for a day full of teen skill-building, exercise, and fun!
Login to your IPRA account, then select "Register Myself". If you are not an IPRA member, create an account as a Basic Contact, then register for the event. Upon completion, registrant will be invoiced for the quantity of participants listed in the registration.
$6.00 IPRA Member / $9.00 Non-Member; fee is per participant.
Park Districts are encouraged to form groups of 9-11 players. If your agency has multiple teams, counselors must mix ages amongst the teams evenly as possible. Teams are encouraged to create a name, chant, color, etc. for the event. Teams are allowed to wear matching clothes and/or colors.
What To Bring:
Each camper and counselor needs their own sack lunch and refillable water bottle; team will be given a designated lunch time upon arrival. Participants should wear shirts, shorts, socks, and gym shoes; NO skirts, flip flops, bathing suits, sandals, jewelry, or revealing clothing. This is an outside event in open fields, so campers are encouraged to wear sunscreen, hats, and sunglasses.
Counselors will be provided with a participation waiver via email after the designated deadline. Each participant must complete the wavier to be submitted at check-in on the morning of the event.
We ask that your group arrives no later than 9:45 am so we may begin promptly at 10:00 am. Upon arrival, counselors should report to the check-in table to confirm participation numbers (for teams), submit completed participation waivers, and get their assigned starting location.
In the event of inclement weather, you will be notified by 7:00 a.m. via email. There is no rain date for this event.
