Safe Zone Conversations: Racism
In celebration of Black History Month, we are cordially inviting you to participate in an IPRA Safe Zone Conversation on the topic of racism. A Safe Zone Conversation (SZC) is simply defined as civil dialogue amongst a group of people purposely engineered to discuss human topics that can be deemed sensitive, uncomfortable, or complex in nature. We are beginning to see more and more professionals talk about racism, acknowledge vulnerabilities, and listen to others with different perspectives. If you’re looking for that opportunity or simply want to learn more about these valuable events and how they can benefit your agency, you are encouraged to join us for at least one of the two events scheduled for the month of February. These events are open to members and non-members from all regions of Illinois. Registration is limited to the first 40 people for each event, so don't miss out!
Who Should Attend:
Park District, forest preserve, and conservation professionals of varying levels of experience and special interests seeking to talk about the issue of racism in an
environment of mutual respect and inclusivity are encouraged to attend.
