Safe Zone Conversation: Racism
You are cordially invited to participate in an IPRA, association-wide Safe Zone Conversation on the topic of racism. Facilitated by leaders of the IPRA Diversity Leadership Taskforce, a Safe Zone Conversation (SZC) is simply defined as civil dialogue amongst a group of people purposely engineered to discuss human topics that can be deemed sensitive, uncomfortable, or complex in nature. It is an environment of mutual respect and inclusivity, a safe place for people to speak their minds. We learned from our 3-part DEI education series with LaTonya Wilkins that many professionals are ready to actively talk about racism, acknowledge and confront vulnerabilities, and listen to others for further perspective and understanding. If you’re looking for an opportunity to start or continue the DEI discussion, or you want to learn more about SZCs and how they can benefit your agency, you are encouraged to join us as we bring together professionals from all regions of Illinois. Registration is limited to the first 40 people, so don't miss out!
