Supervisor Symposium is being held virtually on Zoom!

Sponsored by IPRA's Recreation (REC) Section, Supervisor Symposium celebrates its 19th year in providing students and professionals in the recreation field a curriculum that builds a strong foundation of basic skills needed to succeed in a supervisory position. Sessions create opportunities to increase knowledge, which can be implemented immediately and expose participants to emerging trends, which can help advance their career in the recreation field. Those who attend, strive to be successful leaders in the field of recreation. Come build your network and join other professionals aspiring to be a more effective supervisor and leader in the field of Parks and Recreation.

Login to your IPRA account (See "Sign in" to the right or below), then scroll down to select "Register Myself".  If you are not an IPRA member, create an account (See create a new account under "Sign in", then register for the event).

How to Participate: Supervisor Symposium will be delivered via Zoom. It is not required to have an account, but you will be asked to download the program to your device to participate. Attendees can participate from a computer, laptop, any smart device, or can use the call in feature.  Virtual links will be emailed April 16.  If you have not received your link by April 16 @ 3:00pm, please contact Kim Laper at kim@ilipra.org.

Fee: $0.00 IPRA Student Member / $60.00 IPRA Member / $100.00 Non-Member 

Cancellations: Refunds will be issued to requests received on or before April 15, 2020, less a 20% administrative fee.  No refunds will be issued for cancellations received after April 15, 2020.

CEUs: Event approved for .30 CEUs (Continuing Education Units are for CPRE and CPRP certification).

A new generation has arrived in the workplace (Generation Z), another generation seems to be getting a bad rap (Millennial) and a new micro-generation has been discovered (Xennial).  This session is aimed at those born after 1980 and those hiring staff right out of college.  Whether you are fighting against the stereotypes of your own generation or trying to stop using the "millennial" label in the workplace, this session is a good step to increase collaboration and a positive work environment.  Understand yourself and others as we discuss the characteristics of each generation and how to overcome the positives and negatives of labeling.  Get to know your strengths, identify weaknesses, and better arm your professionals.  Come with an open mind, there are some hard lessons to learn.
