Special Events Committee Meeting & Education - Volunteers

Special Events Committee Meeting & Education - Volunteers
Located within IPRA's Recreation (REC) Section, the Special Events Committee consists of a group of park district professionals that either specialize or work in and around special events. A 30-minute committee meeting will precede a 1-hour educational session titled "Volunteers". Do you feel you always need some help at your events? Is your budget always shrinking? Do you have a volunteer program? Speakers Pam Carter and Lauren Hanson of the Lemont Park District will share their G.I.V.E. (Generous Individuals Volunteering Endlessly) program and discuss how to effectively recruit, train, and retain volunteers of all ages. Following the presentation will be a 30-minute discussion / roundtable about successes and challenges with volunteers at different agencies. If you are interested in joining the committee or simply wish to attend the event for educational and networking purposes, you are encouraged to register. This is a members-only event, but guests interested in learning more about IPRA are welcome to attend.
