Learning Lab: New Tools to Enhance Youth Safety

Learning Lab: New Tools to Enhance Youth Safety
Phase 5 of Restore Illinois is finally here, but let’s face it, youth safety is and will continue to be a concern for parents, teachers, and recreation professionals alike. IPRA and IAPD have partnered with the Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) to help raise awareness of Safe2Help Illinois. This unique program was launched in the Spring of 2021 and is described as a safe and confidential way for kids to share information that might help prevent things such as suicides, bullying, violence, and other threats. Your agency employs several types of trusted adults among today’s youth, and Safe2Help Illinois can be a great resource for your team in providing information, tips, tools, and training. Come join your colleagues and learn more about this program and how it can help youth navigate 21st century threats and overcome the mental health ramifications associated with the COVID-19 pandemic.
