Learning Lab: The Reveal - An Illinois Research Study
Led by Dr. Laura Payne of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, this session will reveal the findings from a statewide survey conducted with Illinois leaders on how agencies have navigated challenges and opportunities associated with the COVID-19 pandemic in the last thirteen months. Included in the discussion will be information about specific strategies and resources agencies have used and relied upon to navigate the ever-changing circumstances and position (or reposition) themselves for success beyond the pandemic. Come join Dr. Payne and your colleagues for an informative discussion and learn key data and findings that will assist in your agency planning and creative marketing strategies.

Who Should Attend:
Park and recreation professionals of varying experience levels and special interests.

To Register:
 Login to your IPRA account, select "Register Myself", then register for the event. If you do not have one, create an account (membership not required), then register for the event. Registration deadline is Monday, April 19, 2021.

How to Participate:
 The event will take place via Zoom Webinar. It is not required to have an account, but the web browser client will download automatically when you start or join your first meeting from a computer. Attendees can also participate from a smart device using the Zoom app, or can use the call-in feature. Upon registering for the event with IPRA, participants will be emailed an invitation from Zoom to register for the protected join link. If you have not received the invitation by 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 20, please contact Duane Smith at duane@ilipra.org

Transcription Services: Live transcriptions are available to participants via Otter.ai at no additional charge. Instructions will be provided to those indicating at registration they require the service to participate.

Cancellations: Refunds will be issued to requests received on or before April 19, less a 20% administrative fee. No refunds will be issued after the registration deadline.  

CEUs: Event is approved for 0.1 CEUs (Continuing Education Units are for certifications such as CPRE, CPRP, CTRS).

Laura Payne is a professor and Extension Specialist at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She advocates to improve community recreation and park resources for rural and under-served communities to ensure equitable access to parks and recreation opportunities. She also studies how engagement in valued leisure and recreation activities is affected by the onset of chronic health conditions, and how people use leisure as self-care in ways that enhance overall health and quality of life.
