Learning Objectives: 1) Demonstrate an understanding of the LGBTQ+ community within a power / oppression framework, 2) Identify ways to create safe spaces for the LGBTQ+ community in park and recreation centers, forest preserve district facilities, and other organizational spaces, 3) apply knowledge of peer and self-reflection to leverage one's own privilege with the goal of advocating for LGBTQ+ community members at the workplace and beyond.
Who Should Attend: Park and recreation, conservation, and forest preserve district professionals interested in learning how to better advocate for the LGBTQ+ community through organizational / policy changes and self-reflection.

How to Participate: The event will take place live via Zoom Webinar. It is not required to have an account, but the web browser client will download automatically when you start or join your first meeting from a computer. Attendees can also participate from a smart device using the Zoom app, or can use the call-in feature. Upon registering for the event with IPRA, participants will be emailed an invitation from Zoom with a unique join link. Live Transcriptions: Live transcriptions are available to participants for no additional charge.
CEUs: Event is approved for 0.1 CEUs and will only be awarded to those in live attendance for a minimum of 45 minutes (Continuing Education Units are for certifications such as CPRE, CPRP, CTRS).
