Facility Management Workshop
Sponsored by IPRA's Facility Management (FM) Section, Facility Management Workshop is a unique hybrid event designed to provide practitioners of all experience levels a curriculum that identifies tools to become a better facility manager and enhance operational efficiencies at various facilities. This 6th annual event will begin with a keynote from Executive Director Laure Kosey (Oak Brook) about building DEI into facility management, followed by a track of sessions featuring respected industry practitioners presenting on topics such as proactive facility inspections, managing front line staff, aquatics, and finding work-life balance. Come build your network and join other professionals aspiring to improve their facility management skills.

Who Should Attend: 
Park and recreation, conservation, and forest preserve district professionals that oversee facilities and are looking to enhance their foundational knowledge of facility management.

Virtual Track: Virtual attendees will have access to the keynote presentation with Laure Kosey and three live-stream sessions: Diamond Approach to Proactive Facility Inspections, Aquatics 101: Facility Manager Edition, and Help! My Staff Are All So Different. Virtual registration does not include lunch.

How To Participate Virtually: The virtual track will take place live via Zoom Webinar - no recordings will be available after the event. It is not required to have an account, but the web browser client will download automatically when you start or join your first meeting from a computer. Attendees can also participate from a smart device using the Zoom app, or can use the call-in feature. Upon registering for the event with IPRA, participants will be emailed an invitation from Zoom with a unique join link. Live Transcriptions: Live transcriptions are available to virtual participants via Otter.ai at no additional charge. 

To Register:
Login to your IPRA account, select "Register Myself", then register for the in-person or virtual event. If you do not have one, create an account (membership not required), then register for the event. Students members should register by selecting one of the Student Registration options and identifying their current academic institution. Registration deadline is Tuesday, September 27, 2022.

Cancellations: Refunds will be issued to requests received on or before September 27, 2022, less a 20% administrative fee. No refunds will be issued for cancellations received after September 27, 2022.

CEUs: Virtual and in-person tracks each approved for 0.4 CEUs and will be awarded to those in attendance for at least 45 minutes each session. Continuing Education Units are for certifications such as CPRE, CPRP, and CTRS.

VIRTUAL & IN-PERSON: Regardless of the size, shape, or type of aquatic feature, a maintenance plan that includes at a minimum routine, preventative, and seasonal duties will minimize shutdowns, allow for proper delegation of work, and develop a budget for today and years to come. Routine or daily checklists and duties establish the standard of care expected of the staff that management can assign as a part of a staff members responsibilities.
