Every facility has operating systems that work behind the scenes and around the clock to keep things running at peak efficiency. Can you identify these systems, and do you know how they work? This hands-on session is for the newer Facility Manager or anyone looking to better understand back-of-the-house systems. Kolbe Kasper and his West Chicago team will provide attendees with a behind the scenes look at the ARC Center's HVAC equipment and controls, boilers, plumbing, security systems, electrical panels, sewer systems, server rooms, and more. This is a hands-on session to allow for managers to see and feel these systems for better understanding at their own facility.

We live in an ever-changing world, which means the threats we face are also constantly changing. As a Facility Manager, you and your team are responsible for the the safety and well-being of patrons inside your facility. Are you aware of all the potential threats to your facility? Do you have a plan prepared to deal with those threats and keep your patrons safe? Does your team know what to do in the event a threat transpires and becomes a reality? Come see the PDRMA staff as they discuss the ever-changing landscape of threats and exposures and how to effectively prepare your staff and facilities (through planning) to help ensure that you and your team are as ready as you can be when the next issue arises.

What do you need to include in the RFP and how does the bidding process work? Laure Kosey shares her expertise and provides tips on how to write an RFP to effectively solicit proposals and make your agency's projects a must-have for local businesses. New and seasoned facility managers will walk away with sample RFP's to be used as a resource when writing the next RFP for their agency.

It takes a team effort to operate a facility, and Facility Managers are challenged with the task of facilitating that team effort daily. Your team, like most others, consists of professionals from different departments, all of which bring different perspectives, priorities, and goals to the table. How do you get your team members to collaborate and work efficiently towards the betterment of your facility? Positive relationships and communication within the team will determine your facility's success, or lack thereof. Mike Selep will share his experiences and demonstrate ways to facilitate team collaboration so your facility is successful, operates effectively, and stimulates patronage from the community.
