CPRE Exam Prep Series - October, 2019

CPRE Exam Prep Series - October, 2019
Certified Park and Recreation Executive (CPRE) is a national certification program through the National Park and Recreation Association, and it establishes a national standard for managerial, administrative, and executive park and recreation professionals. CPRE certification places you in the company of an elite group of park and recreation managers and executives, and connect you to the latest trends and information. This program consists of two classes in October that will train and prepare participants to become a CPRE. Each class covers different topics, so attendance to both is high recommended but not mandatory; lunch is included with registration.

To attend CPRE training sessions and sit for the exam, you must meet the following NRPA eligibility requirements:

  • Have a current CPRP certification, and
  • Have a Bachelor's degree from a program accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Parks, Recreation, Tourism, and Related Professions (COAPRT) and 5 years of professional, full-time managerial experience, or
  • Have a Master's degree or higher and 4 years of professional, full-time managerial experience

Testing: CPRE is achieved by successfully passing the CPRE Certification Examination (150 questions), which can be taken at computer-based testing facilities throughout the United States.

Certification: CPRE certification is valid for 3 years. Renewal is achieved by obtaining 3.0 CEUs within the three-year certification cycle. CEUs must be achieved in topics highlighted by the CPRE core competencies and job tasks (Communication, Human Resources, Policies, etc). Reference materials are listed in the CPRE Candidate Handbook to assist with examination preparation.
