2023 CPRE Virtual Exam Preparation Program
NPRA's Certified Park and Recreation Executive (CPRE) certification establishes a national standard for managerial, administrative, and executive park and recreation professionals. This is a nationally accredited mastery-level certificate, and its the highest level a park and recreation professional can achieve. CPRE certification places you in the company of an elite group of park and recreation managers and professionals, demonstrates your knowledge and leadership as it relates to managing a recreation department, gives you prominence in the industry, and gives you an important advantage for your career advancement. Classes taught by Katie Troline (GoldMedal Force, LLC) and Mike Selep (NWCSRA).

To attend CPRE training sessions and sit for the exam, you must meet one the following NRPA eligibility requirements:

  • Hold a current Certified Park and Recreation Professional (CPRP) Certification, or have held CPRP certification whose expiration date is within two years of the date of application for the CPRE, AND
  • Hold a master's or higher degree from a regionally accredited education institution, and 3 years of professional full-time manager experience, OR
  • Hold a bachelor's degree from a program accredited by the Council On Accreditation of Parks, Recreation, Tourism, and Related Professions (COAPRT) accredited program and 4 years of professional full-time manager experience, OR
  • Hold a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited education institution (from a non-COAPRT accredited program), with a major in recreation, park resources, or a related professional and 5 years of professional full-time manager experience, OR
  • Hold a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited education institution, with a major other than recreation, park resources, or a related profession and 6 years of professional full-time manager experience, OR
  • Hold an associate degree from a regionally accredited education institution and 8 years of professional full-time manager experience, OR
  • Hold a high school diploma or equivalency certificate from a regionally accredited institution and 10 years of professional full-time manager experience.

Who Should Attend:
 Professionals with CPRP certification seeking high-level administrative opportunities are encouraged to pursue CPRE designation to demonstrate leadership in all aspects of managing a park and recreation department.

Login to your IPRA account, select "Register Myself". If you do not have one, create an account (membership not required), then register for the prep course. Registration deadline for Series A is Tuesday, February 14, and Series B is Tuesday, September 19, 2023.

Cancellation: 
Refunds for each exam prep course only will be issued to requests received on or before February 14 (Series A) or September 19 (Series B), less a 20% administrative fee. No refunds will be issued for the exam prep course after the registration deadline, or the study guide.

CEUs:
 Event is approved for 0.6 CEUs (Continuing Education Units are for certifications such as CPRE, CPRP, and CTRS).
