Park & Recreation Agency Excellence Recognized at Annual Conference

La Grange – On January 25, 2019, during the IAPD/IPRA Soaring to New Heights Conference, the Illinois Park & Recreation Association (IPRA) honored several park and recreation agencies for excellence in the following areas:  

Exceptional Workplace Award

The Exceptional Workplace Award recognizes park and recreation agencies that have gone above and beyond to identify and achieve a high level of health and wellness for their employees.

Outstanding Facility and Parks Award

The purpose of the Outstanding Facility & Parks Award is to honor public agencies for outstanding and unique achievements in the design and development of new or renovated parks or recreation facilities.

OVERALL Park or Facility

Woodridge Park District: Athletic Recreation Center

       Division I (operating budget of less than $5 million)

                       Park:                 Byron Forest Preserve District: Jarrett Prairie Center Museum Renovation & New Overlook Project

                       Facility:            Park District of Forest Park: Roos Recreation Center

       Division II (operating budget of $5 million or more)   

                       Park:                Oak Brook Park District: Central Park Improvement Project

                        Facility:            Park District of Highland Park: Sunset Valley Golf Course

Outstanding Program or Special Event Award 

Outstanding Program or Special Event Awards are to honor public agencies for outstanding and unique achievements in program development and implementation and special event planning.
