La Grange – On January 24, 2020 the Illinois Park & Recreation Association (IPRA) honored Michael Loszach, Program Manager at the Park District of Oak Park, for his commitment and excellent service to parks and recreation in Illinois. Mr. Loszach was recognized during the IAPD/IPRA Soaring to New Heights Conference Awards Luncheon held at the Hyatt Regency Chicago.

IPRA Young Professional Award: Michael Loszach, Park District of Oak Park

The Young Professional of the Year Award recognizes an up-and-coming leader in the field of parks and recreation and is given to an individual with less than eight years of experience, but someone who shows a great deal of promise in becoming a future leader in the field.

Mike is a well-deserving recipient of the Young Professional of the Year award. He is driven, passionate and keeps a positive attitude in any situation. His drive to improve the quality of his programs and his agency as a whole is evident through his work history so far. During his time at the Park District of Oak Park, he has been given additional responsibilities and a promotion to the role of Recreation Program Manager, where he oversees all general recreation programming, four full time employees and over 100 seasonal and part time staff. Mike’s passion for recreation was first noted while he was working as a camp counselor at the Lisle Park District. He made an impact on the lives of the teens by serving as a role model, and he showed creativity and innovation when coming up with new activities. He is a great teammate with a positive attitude. Mike truly embodies how we are in the business of fun by keeping a good balance of professionalism and sense of humor.

‘We are so thrilled to honor Michael Loszach for his dedication as a rising star in the park and recreation field. His commitment to the field, along with his positive attitude, will allow him to go far in his career.’ Debbie Trueblood, CAE, IPRA Executive Director
