Glenview Park District Employee Recognized at IAPD/IPRA Annual Conference

La Grange – On January 28, 2021, the Illinois Park & Recreation Association (IPRA) honored Todd Price from the Glenview Park District, for his commitment and excellent service to parks and recreation in Illinois. Mr. Price was recognized during the IPRA Awards Program at the IAPD/IPRA Soaring to New Heights Virtual Conference.

IPRA Community Impact Award: Todd Price, Glenview Park District

The IPRA Community Impact Award is presented to a current Illinois park and recreation professional who has made a significant impact in the community they serve through their involvement with local, community, non-profit, and business organizations or government agencies. This award celebrates those professionals who are not currently executive directors, recognizing their important impact to our field.

The Glenview park district’s superintendent of leisure services Todd Price is an industry leader whose impact touches countless people in the Glenview community. His remarkable skillset has resulted in numerous enduring relationships with local businesses, churches, and organizations, and has provided impactful, philanthropic opportunities for his constituents.

Todd understands the importance of connecting the park district to the community. As the first director of historic Wagner Farm, Todd crafted the Glenview Farmer’s Market so it would not only provide an opportunity for individuals on government assistance to buy fresh produce, but also allow students of the North Suburban Special Education District to learn about agriculture.

Through Todd’s generous donation of his personal time, he volunteers at area festivals, fundraisers, local religious events, and he started a 4H club for youth ages 8-18. Todd has given these children opportunities to learn about the importance of agriculture, responsibility, leadership, and the significance of giving back to one’s community.

Todd’s leadership shined in the face of COVID-19 as he successfully opened an outdoor pool, organized summer camps, and created a reverse parade as a safe way to celebrate the 4th of July. During times of uncertainty, Todd forged ahead and delivered outstanding services that the residents of Glenview have been accustom to, but just in a different way.

‘Todd Price’s name is synonymous with leadership in recreation. His ability to advance the park district through building relationships has integrated recreation into the Glenview community. We are proud to see Todd receive the IPRA Community Impact Award.’ - Debbie Trueblood, CAE, IPRA Executive Director
