Richard Quattrocki is currently the Communications Manager for the Lincolnwood Parks & Recreation Department. Recreation has been a part of my life since childhood when I was active on the Village of Orland Park Pioneer Wrestling Team. I continued with sports and Student Government throughout High School and was involved with the CAB (Campus Activity Board) during College and Graduate School. A piece of advice from my College Counselor that shaped my career was; "You should find a job that makes you happy, not one in which you are always watching the clock, waiting for the hands to get to five so you can go home." I enjoyed recreation from a participant side, so I listened to this advise and pursued recreation as a career, landing my first job out of Grad School as a Recreation Coordinator with the Tinley Park Park District. That was 19 years ago, and I stayed in the field and currently serve as the Communications Manager for the Lincolnwood Parks and Recreation Department. Richard says: "IPRA is my Support Team, their staff are friendly and helpful. Being on committees and participating in section activities has provides me an excellent opportunity to network and meet other professionals. If I need help on a project, want to bounce a new idea off of someone, or need an occasional pep talk to re-energize, the IPRA Staff and their membership are always there. I would like to invite all IPRA members to stop by the silent auction at this year's conference and say hi, I will be working behind the counter. Many great deals can be found at the auction and the proceeds benefit the IPRA Scholarship Fund." |
